Empowering under privileged students by giving them a good education that will prepare them to have a carrier and to hold a job that will make them more confident, give them the chance to learn from others, allow them to lead a better life 

Uthavum karangal provides partial or full assistance to poor students from primary school to university levels, who are not in a position to continue their education because of financial hardships. Areas of assistance include: text books, tuition fees, exam fees, hostel fees, uniforms, backpacks, school supplies, stationery items, as well as scholarship range from Rupees 500 to Rupees 2000 per month depending on local conditions and economic status of each student’s family.  


Contributing Supplies To Mahajana College

The provision of basic school supply creates an environment that encourages students to actively engage in their own education. We have provided 111,110 Rupees worth of bicycles, shoes and textbooks to nine students in need.


Contributing Bicycles For Students

Bicycle solves the problem of mobility and helps students to travel greater distances in a shorter length of time. Students get to school faster saving precious daylight time for studies.

Four students from Mullaitheevu accepted bicycles valued at 90,000 Rupees from uthavum karangal.

Sharmila Yasotharan received 35,000 rupees worth of supplies and a bicycle from Uthavum Karangal

Uduthurai

S Ganakumari received a bicycle valued at 25,000 rupees from Uthavum Karangal
 

Vavunia

Nine students from two schools in Vavunia District accepted bicycles valued at 212,000 Rupees from uthavum karangal


Contributing Tuition Fees For Students


Public schools follow the same syllabus as private tutoring centers, with no cost to students, there are significant disparities in the resources available to rural and urban public schools. Resulting from these issues we have decided to fund five students

March 16 - 2021

We aided five students 5,400 Rupees per month collectively to cover their tuition fees until end of their academic year.

April 29 - 2021

Awarded financial aid of 15,000 rupees to Nishanthan Athithtitan to further his education at university.
